Randy is President and CEO of Whitecap International Seafood Exporters, and works out of the St. John’s office in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, where he oversees the development of the entire portfolio of seafood products procured and marketed by Whitecap under a variety of brands, as well as its growth and business development in a multitude of international markets. As one of the founding partners of Whitecap, Randy has been President and CEO since the company’s inception in 2008. In this role, Randy has guided Whitecap’s trajectory as one of the largest and most trusted independent marketers of premium Canadian seafood products in the world – with sales in over 40 countries and sales offices in Canada, USA, UK, Germany, and Asia. Born and raised in Newfoundland, Randy holds an MBA Degree in International Business and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (B. Eng).
Prior to his years at Whitecap, Randy worked for 30 years at Fishery Products International (FPI), a major vertically integrated fishing, processing and marketing company. Within FPI, Randy worked in a variety of senior management positions, including serving as Vice President of International Sales and Marketing for 13 years. In this position, he managed the brand development of a host of product lines including Luxury Brand Snow Crab, FPI Ice Shrimp and FPI Sea Scallops, and directed FPI’s expansion into new markets in Western Europe, Asia, including Japan and China, and Russia. Randy was also responsible for the sourcing and trading arm of FPI’s Primary Group Division. In addition to his corporate executive roles, Randy has served as a Director on a number of industry and civic-related boards throughout his career.
